Donald Trump has surprised tourists and Londoners with an unexpected to visit to the UK capital.
It’s especially surprising given the amount of mayhem his ‘diplomacy’ has been causing across the globe. But this visit has a special purpose.

Scrubby and Donald, the Gas Bros, are here to promote the latest and greatest (Donald’s words) US export to the world – Liquefied Natural Gas or LNG. LNG has been in the news recently because of Trump and Netanyahu’s war with Iran. A war which has blocked le site Strait of Hormuz almost as effectively as a Trump stool in a Whitehouse toilet.
Now shipping tankers are heading to the US for LNG (and oil), fracked gas is in demand like never before.

All this despite the fact LNG is more climate warming in the short term than oil. That’s because it leaks methane (a more potent short term climate warming gas than CO2) at every stage of its production and use. From ‘well to wake’ (from when it’s extracted to where it’s used) it is 33% more polluting than coal.
This is why Donald has teamed up with Scrubby the Sponge (former Head of Fact Ideation at SEA LNG), the GOAT greenwasher.

Scrubby is cleaning up LNG by proposing it can (methane) slip past any plans to tax shipping fuel at the UN International Maritime Organisation (IMO). At the same time his Orange employer is making doubly sure there’s no tax on shipping fuel by threatening small nations with tariffs if they vote for the IMO’s Net Zero Framework. They are both winning. Scrubby, SEA LNG and shipping companies have lobbied (and lied to) IMO Member Nations convincing them ‘LNG is a good transition fuel’ (despite evidence to the contrary), Trump has frightened small nations with his threat of tariffs, despite recent US court rulings.

With over 1,000 huge LNG ships built or on order shipping is increasing its pollution levels. And with plans to increase shipping, adding in more LNG ships along the way, its pollution levels are growing at an alarming rate. Pollution from the shipping industry is already double that of the aviation industry, and, to add insult to injury, 40% of all shipping cargo is gas and oil.

Here’s a few LNG facts Scrubby has been sponging away

The Gas Bros ended their tour by popping into Buckingham Palace to reveal plans for a new LNG plant. The plans include extracting gas from the wasteland that is St James’s Park and processing it on site. It’s similar to other plans (and LNG plants) across the world like the one in the Coral Triangle and in Argentina. London hospitals are expecting major health problems for Londoners – health issues are an ‘unfortunate’ byproduct of LNG production, a byproduct Scrubby and the industry avoids discussing.
