Yesterday, on the eve of the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, Ocean Rebellion created a poster wall for the ‘Ocean Basecamp’ at ‘La Baleine’.
While we put up the posters two suited people stood in front of one: Macron ❤️ Trawling. They explained they were from the French authorities and the poster ‘DID NOT’ have permission to be displayed. The other posters were ok.
Then the same happened to our ‘Macron ❤️ Trawling’ block, it was being used by children to print clothing and posters at a workshop.
Of course we agreed to remove both – we don’t like to upset the authorities. But we were left wondering what this means to our ‘freedom of speech’?
The fate of the Ocean depends on us all.
Our interventions depend on your support.
⬆️ The workshop continued without the much loved ‘Macron ❤️ Trawling’ printing block, but we were already hatching a plan for its reappearance elsewhere in Nice.
