Nos Pa\u00edses Baixos, para ser mais preciso, em Haia, no dia 28th<\/sup> de Setembro de 2022, um grupo reunido em frente ao Minist\u00e9rio da Economia e do Clima. Foram proferidos discursos e foram cantadas can\u00e7\u00f5es. O grupo era composto por cientistas, activistas da Ocean Rebellion, pessoas da 'Waddenzeevereniging' e da favela mar\u00edtima 'Utrecht aan Zeemanskoor'. Porqu\u00ea? Foi mais uma tentativa de convencer os pol\u00edticos dentro do edif\u00edcio de que n\u00e3o deveriam perfurar para obter g\u00e1s na preciosa zona de Waddenzee, nos Pa\u00edses Baixos.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Os pre\u00e7os do g\u00e1s subiram como todos sabemos, e todos, os pol\u00edticos inlcudidos, come\u00e7aram a entrar em p\u00e2nico. Tiraram um plano antigo da prateleira para o trazer de novo \u00e0 vida. Perfura\u00e7\u00e3o no Waddenzee para g\u00e1s. O governo est\u00e1 prestes a conceder uma licen\u00e7a para o efeito. O Waddenzee \u00e9 uma zona mar\u00edtima preciosa no norte dos Pa\u00edses Baixos. \u00c9 patrim\u00f3nio mundial da UNESCO. A perfura\u00e7\u00e3o ali \u00e9 uma ideia desastrosa. E ser\u00e1 necess\u00e1rio? Num dos discursos, foi salientado que j\u00e1 muitos peritos na zona de Waddenzee em campos de especializa\u00e7\u00e3o muito diferentes t\u00eam alertado o governo: \"N\u00e3o o fa\u00e7as!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porque n\u00e3o?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Algumas raz\u00f5es para n\u00e3o o fazer incluem: se come\u00e7ar a perfurar para g\u00e1s agora, o processo de bombeamento leva anos, pelo que s\u00f3 poder\u00e1 ser utilizado muito mais tarde. Em segundo lugar, um ecossistema precioso ser\u00e1 severamente danificado. Em terceiro lugar, as Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas e a Ag\u00eancia Internacional de Energia exortaram a n\u00e3o criar novas infra-estruturas para os combust\u00edveis f\u00f3sseis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outro bom motivo<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Foram proferidos v\u00e1rios discursos convincentes. Um deles foi proferido por Dr. Paul Behrens<\/a>, Professor Associado de Mudan\u00e7a Ambiental na Universidade de Leiden. Ele tinha uma raz\u00e3o interessante para n\u00e3o perfurar o Waddenzee a acrescentar. Salientou que uma r\u00e1pida transi\u00e7\u00e3o energ\u00e9tica \u00e9 simplesmente CHEAPER do que aderir \u00e0s formas antiquadas de energia! Isso deve soar como m\u00fasica para os ouvidos dos pol\u00edticos. E cria enormes oportunidades econ\u00f3micas, ambientais, e sociais. E, claro, a alega\u00e7\u00e3o de Paul foi baseada na investiga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica. Ele escreveu recentemente um livro sobre o assunto, ver abaixo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Portanto, vejamos um pouco mais de perto o que ele estava a dizer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. N\u00e3o perfurar \u00e9 simplesmente mais barato!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ao fazer a transi\u00e7\u00e3o r\u00e1pida para novas energias, podemos descarbonizar pelo menos 70% -80% do sistema energ\u00e9tico. E temos tecnologia acess\u00edvel para isso. As turbinas e\u00f3licas e a energia solar, por exemplo, s\u00e3o grandes ferramentas para esta transi\u00e7\u00e3o. Al\u00e9m disso, faz\u00ea-lo mais rapidamente reduz os custos. Um estudo recente da Universidade de Oxford mostra o mesmo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. O fornecimento nacional de energia ser\u00e1 assegurado por um r\u00e1pido tr\u00e2nsito de energia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

N\u00e3o estaremos dependentes de petrostatos se construirmos o nosso pr\u00f3prio sistema energ\u00e9tico nacional de baixo teor de carbono. Seremos capazes de gerar a nossa pr\u00f3pria energia localmente e atrav\u00e9s do sistema integrado de transmiss\u00e3o da UE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. A seguran\u00e7a econ\u00f3mica nacional ser\u00e1 tamb\u00e9m garantida!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Os pre\u00e7os da energia s\u00e3o hoje em dia loucos na Europa e s\u00e3o o maior motor da infla\u00e7\u00e3o em toda a Europa neste momento. Com uma r\u00e1pida transi\u00e7\u00e3o energ\u00e9tica e tamb\u00e9m com o isolamento das casas, vamos manter a quest\u00e3o nas nossas pr\u00f3prias m\u00e3os. O vento, os pain\u00e9is solares e a actualiza\u00e7\u00e3o dos edif\u00edcios para os novos padr\u00f5es funcionar\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

E porque devemos deixar o Waddenzee em paz? Paul calculou, o g\u00e1s, ganho com o Waddenzee n\u00e3o ser\u00e1 assim tanto. Seria uma gota num balde... Mal ganhar\u00edamos dinheiro com esta quantia! O custo seria enorme. Temos de resistir e protestar contra ideias m\u00edopes como novas explora\u00e7\u00f5es de g\u00e1s que condenar\u00e3o o nosso futuro a um planeta de estufa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9 melhor n\u00e3o investir na explora\u00e7\u00e3o de g\u00e1s, mas utilizar o dinheiro em vez disso para melhoramentos dom\u00e9sticos, bombas de calor e vento offshore. Estes s\u00e3o investimentos num futuro habit\u00e1vel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O resultado final de Paul: investimentos em g\u00e1s \u00e9 dinheiro pelo cano abaixo.... Pior, dinheiro para acelerar uma cat\u00e1strofe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ap\u00f3s os discursos, os activistas da Ocean Rebellion encarnaram um movimento dram\u00e1tico, semelhante ao da \u00e1gua. O Sea Shanty cantou algumas can\u00e7\u00f5es picantes, terminando com: \"Hora de um bloqueio\". Esperemos que os pol\u00edticos ou\u00e7am a ci\u00eancia, e escolham a op\u00e7\u00e3o mais barata... que n\u00e3o \u00e9 perfurar o Waddenzee, mas investir numa r\u00e1pida transi\u00e7\u00e3o energ\u00e9tica! Assim, afinal n\u00e3o vamos precisar do bloqueio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
