Atracados para al\u00e9m da ponte, os marinheiros avistaram o navio de cruzeiro da P&O Britannia, o velho navio da bandeira da P&O. O peido de GNL nu representa o lobby da ind\u00fastria petrol\u00edfera e do g\u00e1s que est\u00e1 a pressionar fortemente para queimar mais g\u00e1s f\u00f3ssil no transporte mar\u00edtimo europeu, apesar dos apelos urgentes dos cientistas clim\u00e1ticos para uma r\u00e1pida elimina\u00e7\u00e3o gradual dos combust\u00edveis f\u00f3sseis a fim de evitar uma cat\u00e1strofe clim\u00e1tica. Evid\u00eancia<\/a><\/strong> por uma ONG l\u00edder mostra supostamente navios movidos a g\u00e1s \"verde\" emitindo metano n\u00e3o queimado para a atmosfera - o metano \u00e9 80 vezes mais quente do que o di\u00f3xido de carbono durante um per\u00edodo de 20 anos. A nociva lavagem verde do GNL por parte das ind\u00fastrias de combust\u00edveis f\u00f3sseis tem de parar agora, n\u00e3o podemos deix\u00e1-las peidar mais na nossa atmosfera.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Nos dias 3 e 5 de Maio, os principais actores do petr\u00f3leo e g\u00e1s, da navega\u00e7\u00e3o e da ind\u00fastria portu\u00e1ria est\u00e3o reunidos no 2022 Global LNG Bunkering Summit em Amesterd\u00e3o.<\/a><\/strong> O seu objectivo \u00e9 impulsionar a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de g\u00e1s f\u00f3ssil sob a forma de g\u00e1s natural l\u00edquido (GNL) e construir novos projectos de infra-estruturas de GNL em todos os principais portos da Europa. A UE n\u00e3o deve deixar que isto aconte\u00e7a, a UE n\u00e3o deve financiar esta loucura com subs\u00eddios de combust\u00edveis f\u00f3sseis sujos (utilizando o dinheiro dos contribuintes honestos).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

O g\u00e1s f\u00f3ssil e o clima - os factos<\/strong>
O GNL \u00e9 um combust\u00edvel f\u00f3ssil que, quando queimado como combust\u00edvel mar\u00edtimo, derrama metano para a atmosfera - um perigoso g\u00e1s de aquecimento global que est\u00e1 acabado 80-vezes mais aquecimento clim\u00e1tico<\/a><\/strong> a curto prazo do que o di\u00f3xido de carbono.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

O Painel Intergovernamental sobre Altera\u00e7\u00f5es Clim\u00e1ticas (IPCC) da ONU identificado<\/a><\/strong> cortes r\u00e1pidos das emiss\u00f5es de metano como uma das principais prioridades a fim de limitar o aquecimento global a 1,5\u00b0C na medida do poss\u00edvel. O \u00e9 uma das principais prioridades. O \u00faltimo relat\u00f3rio do IPCC<\/a><\/strong> A concentra\u00e7\u00e3o na mitiga\u00e7\u00e3o do clima torna claro que o g\u00e1s f\u00f3ssil sob a forma de GNL n\u00e3o \u00e9 uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o para a descarboniza\u00e7\u00e3o da navega\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ao contr\u00e1rio do que diz a ci\u00eancia clim\u00e1tica, as companhias mar\u00edtimas e portu\u00e1rias t\u00eam sido investindo fortemente em GNL f\u00f3ssil<\/a><\/strong> nos \u00faltimos anos, alegando que o combust\u00edvel ir\u00e1 reduzir os seus impactos ambientais e a polui\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica. Existem actualmente mais de 785 novos navios de carga encomendados a n\u00edvel mundial, com mais de 400 a serem constru\u00eddos para funcionar com GNL f\u00f3ssil.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Queimar mais GNL f\u00f3ssil a bordo das embarca\u00e7\u00f5es \u00e9 um desastre na constru\u00e7\u00e3o do nosso planeta. S\u00f3 iria aumentar as emiss\u00f5es de metano das naves, que j\u00e1 aumentou em 150% entre 2012 e 2018,<\/a><\/strong> de acordo com a Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Mar\u00edtima Internacional da ONU (OMI).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Exig\u00eancias da Ocean Rebellion:<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As empresas de navega\u00e7\u00e3o, os intervenientes portu\u00e1rios e os decisores pol\u00edticos acabam com a expans\u00e3o do g\u00e1s natural l\u00edquido f\u00f3ssil e, em vez disso, aumentam os investimentos em solu\u00e7\u00f5es reais, com emiss\u00f5es zero.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

O Parlamento Europeu e os governos da UE, em particular, devem p\u00f4r fim ao seu apoio pol\u00edtico ao GNL f\u00f3ssil ao abrigo do projecto de lei clim\u00e1tica da UE para os combust\u00edveis mar\u00edtimos (FuelEU Maritime).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As pol\u00edticas da UE que procuram aumentar o transporte mar\u00edtimo e o consumismo da cadeia de abastecimento justo a tempo devem ser remetidas para o passado. Em vez disso, a UE deve aprender com esquemas progressivos com um enviesamento para as necessidades locais.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A ONU deve formar um organismo novo, transparente e representativo para governar o Oceano, em benef\u00edcio de TODAS as vidas. Este novo organismo deve ter como \u00fanica medida de sucesso a restaura\u00e7\u00e3o e o reabastecimento do Oceano. Deve substituir o poder corporativo pelo poder das pessoas. E deve representar as muitas formas de vida marinha que realmente fazem do Oceano um lar.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

O Capit\u00e3o Arjen Van der Veen Fundador da Fairtransport, uma empresa de transporte mar\u00edtimo com emiss\u00f5es zero, acrescenta:<\/strong>
\"Porque \u00e9 que o governo holand\u00eas abandonou os planos de constru\u00e7\u00e3o de navios com tecnologia de emiss\u00e3o zero? Ser\u00e1 porque s\u00f3 ouvem a ind\u00fastria dos combust\u00edveis f\u00f3sseis? N\u00f3s, holandeses, podemos ser um l\u00edder mundial numa nova tecnologia de navega\u00e7\u00e3o, certamente temos de nos esfor\u00e7ar por melhorar e n\u00e3o recuar cometendo o mesmo erro vezes sem conta. Ser\u00e1 que acreditam sinceramente que transformar um combust\u00edvel f\u00f3ssil num acr\u00f3nimo o torna menos t\u00f3xico? Pode servir para fins de lavagem ecol\u00f3gica, mas n\u00e3o muda o quanto \u00e9 prejudicial. Como pode um combust\u00edvel que liberta metano para a atmosfera ser considerado bom? O metano \u00e9 80 vezes mais poluente do que o di\u00f3xido de carbono, certamente \u00e9 tudo o que temos de saber para deixar de o utilizar\".<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
