O GNL \u00e9 um combust\u00edvel f\u00f3ssil que liberta metano mortal ao longo de toda a sua cadeia de abastecimento. Est\u00e1 a causar mortes prematuras onde quer que seja produzido e est\u00e1 a aquecer o planeta a um ritmo alarmante. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sea-lng.org\/about-us\/\">SEA LNG<\/a> \u00e9 uma plataforma de lobbying criada para convencer toda a gente de que o GNL ajudar\u00e1 o transporte mar\u00edtimo a transitar para um futuro mais verde. Mas isso \u00e9 mentira. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investiga\u00e7\u00f5es recentes expuseram as mentiras de plataformas de lobbying industriais como <a href=\"https:\/\/sea-lng.org\/\">MAR\/LNG<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/scijournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/ese3.1934\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A investiga\u00e7\u00e3o revista por pares<\/a> revela que o GNL extra\u00eddo e exportado dos EUA \u00e9 33% mais poluente do que o carv\u00e3o. Para encobrir esta verdade inc\u00f3moda, a ind\u00fastria apregoa <a href=\"https:\/\/saynotolng.org\/resource\/biomethane-infographic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\"biometano<\/a> e<a href=\"https:\/\/saynotolng.org\/resource\/factsheet-e-lng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> \"e-metano<\/a> produtos que representam apenas 6% do mercado da UE e ainda menos a n\u00edvel mundial (e ambos continuam a registar fugas de metano ao longo das suas cadeias de abastecimento). A escala industrial do greenwashing do GNL converteu a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imo.org\/en\/MediaCentre\/MeetingSummaries\/Pages\/MEPC-default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ONU OMI MEPC<\/a> num fantoche da ind\u00fastria dos combust\u00edveis f\u00f3sseis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"7 de abril de 2025\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pYIYSdRkjKM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2b06\ufe0f Bilitaki Lovo, representante do <a href=\"https:\/\/mcstrmi.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Centro de Transportes Sustent\u00e1veis da Micron\u00e9sia<\/a> explica como a polui\u00e7\u00e3o causada pelos navios afecta a vida dos habitantes das ilhas do Pac\u00edfico, polui\u00e7\u00e3o essa que n\u00e3o ser\u00e1 ajudada por uma transi\u00e7\u00e3o para <a href=\"https:\/\/oceanrebellion.earth\/pt\/liquefied-natural-gas-lng-the-facts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GNL<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>O SUCESSO DO GREENWASHING DO GNL<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/sea-lng.org\/about-us\/\">SEA LNG<\/a> tem sido muito bem sucedido, t\u00e3o bem sucedido que empresas como <a href=\"https:\/\/shipandbunker.com\/news\/world\/993488-maersk-backtracks-on-lng-skepticism-in-large-scale-new-ship-order-plans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maersk,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/stop-royal-caribbean-s-misleading-cruise-claims-that-lng-fuel-is-clean-a52e13c8-8f41-4b06-abe7-1745b76f4ffb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Royal Caribbean<\/a>e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\/msc-cruises-orders-two-new-lng-powered-world-class-ships-at-chantiers-de-latlantique\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MSC<\/a> foram <a href=\"https:\/\/bw-group.com\/our-businesses\/bw-lng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promover os seus navios de GNL<\/a> como \"verde\" e a vender esta mentira ao p\u00fablico em geral. Al\u00e9m disso, a OMI est\u00e1 convencida desta mentira e n\u00e3o est\u00e1 a fazer nada para impedir que o GNL se torne o combust\u00edvel f\u00f3ssil de elei\u00e7\u00e3o para o transporte mar\u00edtimo - s\u00f3 na UE, o consumo de GNL pelos navios duplicou de 2,2 milh\u00f5es de toneladas (Mt) em 2018 para 4,4 Mt em 2022. As emiss\u00f5es de metano mais do que duplicaram entre 2018 e 2023 na UE, representando 26% das emiss\u00f5es totais de metano do sector dos transportes em 2022 - um aumento em grande parte atribu\u00eddo \u00e0 crescente utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de GNL como combust\u00edvel mar\u00edtimo, de acordo com um <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emsa.europa.eu\/emter-2025\/full-report.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AESM<\/a> relat\u00f3rio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O gaslighting \u00e9 uma forma de manipula\u00e7\u00e3o psicol\u00f3gica utilizada para fazer duvidar das nossas pr\u00f3prias percep\u00e7\u00f5es e sanidade, muitas vezes atrav\u00e9s da distor\u00e7\u00e3o de factos ou da realidade. Os adeptos do GNL est\u00e3o a empregar t\u00e1cticas de gaslighting, como o financiamento de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o e a cita\u00e7\u00e3o selectiva de estudos que apoiam a sua narrativa <a href=\"https:\/\/saynotolng.org\/resource\/setting-the-record-straight-say-no-to-lng-responds-to-sea-lng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ao mesmo tempo que desacredita os investigadores que destacam os riscos do GNL<\/a>. Est\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m a minar as vozes dissidentes da comunidade e os l\u00edderes de opini\u00e3o, rotulando-os de \"alarmistas\" ou \"obstrucionistas\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Empresas como estas, que recorrem ao gaslighting ao mesmo tempo que fazem alega\u00e7\u00f5es de sustentabilidade, podem estar a violar as suas responsabilidades legais para com os acionistas e arriscam-se a ser alvo de lit\u00edgios se esses riscos materiais, incluindo o risco de lit\u00edgio, n\u00e3o estiverem devidamente reflectidos nas suas contas auditadas.  Do mesmo modo, as ag\u00eancias de nota\u00e7\u00e3o de cr\u00e9dito que n\u00e3o conseguem detetar este \"greenwash\" tamb\u00e9m n\u00e3o est\u00e3o a fornecer leituras de sustentabilidade precisas aos seus subscritores no sector financeiro, pondo em risco a sua pr\u00f3pria credibilidade e modelos de neg\u00f3cio.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J\u00e1 para n\u00e3o falar do incumprimento das responsabilidades \u00e9ticas para com as partes interessadas mais alargadas, a fim de evitar o colapso do clima, da natureza e da sociedade atrav\u00e9s das emiss\u00f5es fugitivas de metano e de carbono f\u00f3ssil resultantes do GNL. Longe de ser limpo, o GNL \u00e9 um dos combust\u00edveis mais sujos que existe.
