Provavelmente n\u00e3o porque nada que afecte os resultados da ind\u00fastria naval n\u00e3o esteja no conv\u00e9s - apesar do enorme aumento dos lucros a que a ind\u00fastria tem assistido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talvez o nosso gentil lembrete dos Rebeldes Vermelhos os ajude a ponderar o seu dever para com o ambiente. Iremos visitar novamente a OMI no final deste ano para os lembrar novamente. Entretanto, eis um lembrete de como nos sentimos em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 OMI.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n    <h2 id=\"callout-block_40047122d8e29bb661a51423bd0846f9\" class=\"callout-heading callout-heading-advanced\">\n\n    \n        <span class=\"font--function-stencil size--fixed\">A OMI<\/span>\n    \n    \n        <span class=\"font--function-stencil size--fixed\">\u00e9 impr\u00f3prio para<\/span>\n    \n    \n        <span class=\"font--function-stencil size--fixed\">finalidade<\/span>\n    \n    \n    <\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n<p>A OMI \u00e9 claramente impr\u00f3pria para o efeito. Actua apenas em nome da ind\u00fastria naval e raramente considera o ambiente. Deve agora reduzir para metade as emiss\u00f5es dos transportes mar\u00edtimos. Acrescente a isto o apoio cont\u00ednuo da IMO \u00e0 ind\u00fastria de combust\u00edveis f\u00f3sseis, n\u00e3o tributando o combust\u00edvel naval e permitindo que o subproduto sujo do combust\u00edvel f\u00f3ssil HFO seja queimado no mar, mais a sua falta de regulamenta\u00e7\u00e3o da navega\u00e7\u00e3o petroqu\u00edmica perigosa, e a lista de erros da IMO e direc\u00e7\u00f5es erradas come\u00e7a a tornar-se muito longa. Dada esta lista em constante expans\u00e3o, n\u00e3o ser\u00e1 tempo de a miss\u00e3o ambiental da OMI ser governada por outra, melhor, ag\u00eancia da ONU?  A vida \u00e9 demasiado importante para ser desperdi\u00e7ada por uma burocracia inepta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exig\u00eancias da Ocean Rebellion:<\/strong><br><strong>A ONU deve formar um organismo novo, transparente e representativo para governar o Oceano, em benef\u00edcio de TODAS as vidas. Este novo organismo deve ter como \u00fanica medida de sucesso a restaura\u00e7\u00e3o e o reabastecimento do Oceano. Deve substituir o poder corporativo pelo poder das pessoas.
