Alle acht handelen namens de industri\u00eble visserij, een van hen is zelfs de zus van een grote eigenaar van een vissersvloot. En alle acht stemmen ze in de laatste week van mei in het EU-parlement aan de zijde van hun rechtse en conservatieve vrienden. Allemaal hebben ze kritiek op het voorstel voor een natuurherstelwet, waarin voor het eerst juridisch bindende doelstellingen voor de lidstaten worden vastgesteld om tegen 2030 20% van het land en de zee\u00ebn van de EU te herstellen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Een van de belangrijkste kwesties is de aanpak van het disfunctionele juridische proces dat is uiteengezet in het gemeenschappelijk visserijbeleid (GVB) en waarop de Wet natuurherstel (NRL) is gebaseerd voor de uitvoering van visserijbeperkende maatregelen voor hersteldoeleinden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"supportus-block_8a6b692fbbd48bc18bc983da3bfde5c2\" class=\"block--supportus\">\n    \n    <p class=\"no-margin\">\n        <strong>Het lot van de oceaan hangt van ons allemaal af.<br \/>\r\nOnze interventies zijn afhankelijk van uw steun.<\/strong>\n    <\/p>\n    \n    <div class=\"wp-container-1 wp-block-buttons\">\n\n        <div class=\"wp-block-button button--support\">\n            <a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"\/nl\/support-us\/\">Steun ons<\/a>\n        <\/div>\n\n        <div class=\"wp-block-button button--contact\">\n            <a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"\/nl\/about\/\">Contacteer ons<\/a>\n        <\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>In de huidige situatie kunnen instandhoudingsmaatregelen in de NRL worden geblokkeerd door lidstaten die de visserij willen bevorderen in plaats van het herstel. Als dit gebeurt, is de NRL geen wet, maar wordt het de Natuurhersteloptie - u kiest of u meedoet of niet. En we weten waartoe dat zal leiden: de regeringen van de EU zullen zich terugtrekken en de gemakkelijke economische voordelen verkiezen boven de hardere beslissingen die nodig zijn voor progressieve veranderingen. Als de EU nu de koe bij de horens vat, kan zij het voortouw nemen, niet alleen bij het herstel van de natuur, maar ook bij de rechtvaardige overgang van banen. Door subsidies te verleggen van destructieve naar herstellende industrie\u00ebn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het herstel van 20% natuur is een goed begin, maar Ocean Rebellion vindt dit slechts een begin. De EU moet radicaler zijn, 20% moet een doel op korte termijn zijn met 80% herstel als doel op lange termijn.
