Ocean Rebellion, Portugal, markeerde wereld water dag door een herinnering aan de fragiele staat van de Oceaan te organiseren met Movimento Pelas \u00c1guas e Serras<\/strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honderden werknemers waren op weg naar huis getuige van gestrande zeemeermensen die gevangen zaten in vistuig en plastic afval, verstikt door het weggegooide afval van onze wegwerpcultuur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vandaag de dag zien we in Portugal, net als in zoveel andere delen van de wereld, een gebrek aan beleid met betrekking tot de bescherming van onze natuurlijke hulpbronnen, wat leidt tot een reeks afsterven van de zee, droogtes en bosbranden die vele wereldbevolkingen bedreigen. Een duidelijk en verontrustend voorbeeld is het plan voor dagbouw in Covas do Barroso<\/a>, Werelderfgoed van de landbouw, dicht bij ons enige Portugese Nationale Park Peneda-Ger\u00eas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoe gek het ook klinkt, in 2023 moeten we nog steeds vechten voor de bescherming van ons meest fundamentele recht: het recht om te leven. Wat natuurlijk alleen mogelijk is omdat onze planeet Aarde in onze behoeften kan voorzien - maar niet voor lang als we dit pad blijven volgen van het voortdurend verwaarlozen van wat het leven mogelijk maakt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ocean Rebellion zweert de Portugese regering onder druk te zetten door de straten en kusten binnen te vallen. Wij zullen iedereen eraan blijven herinneren dat de Aarde moet worden beschermd ten behoeve van al het leven. De Aarde kan niet worden behandeld als een economische hulpbron en worden uitgebuit ten behoeve van een paar mensen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
