Ces carburants sont une source importante de carbone noir mortel dans l'Arctique, et ont \u00e9t\u00e9 li\u00e9s \u00e0 des catastrophes maritimes caus\u00e9es par des pannes de moteur, comme celle de Wakashio \u00e0 Maurice, et \u00e0 des fuites de carburant toxique dans les d\u00e9p\u00f4ts de stockage.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Sophie Miller, d'Ocean Rebellion, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9&nbsp;<strong>\"Le rejet continu de carbone noir provenant de carburants polluants d\u00e9truit notre \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me. La glace de mer arctique, les glaciers, le perg\u00e9lisol et la calotte glaciaire du Groenland r\u00e9tr\u00e9cissent tous rapidement en raison du r\u00e9chauffement de la plan\u00e8te d\u00fb \u00e0 l'effet alb\u00e9do, directement caus\u00e9 par la pollution au carbone noir provenant des HFO et VLSFO polluants. Cela entra\u00eene des cons\u00e9quences environnementales mortelles, telles que l'\u00e9l\u00e9vation du niveau de la mer et des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques extr\u00eames, principalement ressenties par les populations vuln\u00e9rables du sud de la plan\u00e8te et qui se d\u00e9roulent dans le contexte de la crise climatique de l'Arctique.\"<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Les fiouls lourds et le carbone noir seront \u00e0 l'ordre du jour de la PPR 8, o\u00f9 les \u00c9tats membres de l'OMI ont la possibilit\u00e9 de prendre des mesures rapides et efficaces pour r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de carbone noir dans l'Arctique. Les \u00c9tats membres de l'OMI doivent se mettre d'accord sur des r\u00e9glementations visant \u00e0 garantir que l'industrie du transport maritime op\u00e9rant dans ou pr\u00e8s de l'Arctique passe \u00e0 des carburants distill\u00e9s, tels que le diesel ou le gazole marin, et \u00e0 exiger que les navires utilisent des filtres \u00e0 particules, ou passent \u00e0 d'autres sources d'\u00e9nergie ou moyens de propulsion plus propres. Les travaux visant \u00e0 \u00e9laborer une norme mondiale d'\u00e9mission de carbone noir pour le transport maritime doivent \u00eatre programm\u00e9s imm\u00e9diatement.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Sophie a ajout\u00e9&nbsp;<strong>\"Pendant que nous effectuons la transition vers des carburants sans carbone et d'autres m\u00e9thodes de propulsion, nous devons mettre fin aux d\u00e9c\u00e8s dus \u00e0 la pollution atmosph\u00e9rique, r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de carbone noir et faire grimper le co\u00fbt des carburants conventionnels en appliquant le principe du pollueur-payeur. Ocean Rebellion pense que l'OMI doit l\u00e9gif\u00e9rer pour supprimer toutes les subventions aux carburants polluants, et s'assurer que les fabricants de carburants disent la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 et fournissent une liste honn\u00eate de leurs ingr\u00e9dients pour tout carburant produit.
