Les gens de mer et les habitants de la c\u00f4te de Cornouailles ont manifest\u00e9 cette semaine contre les navires de croisi\u00e8re polluants dans le port de Falmouth.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

L'action \u00e9tait un pr\u00e9curseur du lancement officiel d'Ocean Rebellion, le 19 ao\u00fbt, et a rassembl\u00e9 plus de 40 manifestants qui ont pris l'eau avec des drapeaux et des banni\u00e8res.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Les manifestants ont ensuite projet\u00e9 des films et des slogans sur la coque du navire, notamment Fuck This Ship, Sort your Ship out ! et Turn The Tide, afin de sensibiliser le public \u00e0 l'impact environnemental des croisi\u00e8res.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Le groupe d'activistes de base, qui s'appelle Ocean Rebellion, a promis d'intensifier ses activit\u00e9s dans le monde entier pour prot\u00e9ger notre patrimoine oc\u00e9anique commun.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Un porte-parole du groupe d\u00e9clare : \"Le carburant que br\u00fble ce navire est 100 fois plus polluant que le carburant que nous autorisons sur les routes. Cela a un impact environnemental \u00e9norme, non seulement sur les oc\u00e9ans et leurs \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes, mais aussi sur la qualit\u00e9 de l'air dans les communaut\u00e9s c\u00f4ti\u00e8res visit\u00e9es par ces navires. Chaque appartement de ce navire de croisi\u00e8re produit cent fois plus d'\u00e9missions que l'\u00e9quivalent terrestre moyen en Europe. Cela repr\u00e9sente 380 309 kg de CO2 par an - c'est le poids d'un avion Boeing 747\".<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Un r\u00e9sident local inquiet a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que \"m\u00eame pendant les jours les plus chauds de la fermeture, le navire rejetait des tonnes de fum\u00e9e dans l'atmosph\u00e8re locale. On pouvait la voir noire dans le ciel et la sentir dans l'air\".<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Lorsqu'il tourne au ralenti dans un port, ce navire produit plus de pollution par le soufre que 1 200 000 voitures ou 30 000 camions.
(en utilisant les chiffres de l'OMI sur les GES pour le MDO en 2012, page 253, et les valeurs des donn\u00e9es sur les \u00e9missions des voitures de l'OMI). Environnement des transports\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

En termes de pollution climatique, ce navire qui tourne au ralenti dans le port produit chaque jour l'\u00e9quivalent des \u00e9missions quotidiennes de 226 camions (source : Donn\u00e9es MRV de l'UE provenant de MV the world, sur la base d'un kilom\u00e9trage annuel de 100 000 miles consommant 30 litres de diesel par mile.)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

L'oc\u00e9an est comme le c\u0153ur humain, il pompe l'oxyg\u00e8ne et la vie autour du corps de notre plan\u00e8te, fournissant la moiti\u00e9 de l'oxyg\u00e8ne que nous respirons, assurant le cycle de l'eau douce, fournissant des nutriments et contr\u00f4lant nos syst\u00e8mes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

L'oc\u00e9an se trouve entre nous et les pires impacts du d\u00e9r\u00e8glement climatique, et pourtant il est gravement menac\u00e9 par ce d\u00e9r\u00e8glement. Pour l'oc\u00e9an, certains des impacts les plus graves sont : le r\u00e9chauffement de la surface de la mer, le r\u00e9chauffement de l'oc\u00e9an, la d\u00e9soxyg\u00e9nation, l'acidification.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Les navires de croisi\u00e8re de luxe \u00e9mettent 10 fois plus de pollution atmosph\u00e9rique que l'ensemble des voitures europ\u00e9ennes (Transport & environment, 2019)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Le secteur du transport maritime, y compris celui des croisi\u00e8res de luxe, ne paie pas de taxe sur les carburants, et la d\u00e9localisation et l'utilisation de pavillons de complaisance font que peu d'autres taxes sont pay\u00e9es ; il est donc presque enti\u00e8rement exon\u00e9r\u00e9 d'imp\u00f4ts.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Le transport maritime contribue de mani\u00e8re significative \u00e0 la pollution atmosph\u00e9rique, les oxydes de soufre (SOx) et les oxydes d'azote (NOx) contribuant respectivement \u00e0 9% et 18-30% \u00e0 la pollution atmosph\u00e9rique mondiale et entra\u00eenant des probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 humaine et environnementale tels que les maladies respiratoires et cardiaques, l'eutrophisation et la nitrification.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
