Mais il n'a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 pour battre des records du monde. 150 m\u00e8tres, c'est la largeur des m\u00e2choires d'un filet de chalutage de fond, qui peut \u00eatre encore plus large. Si large que dix jumbo jets peuvent voler \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur. Cela signifie qu'un nombre incalculable de tortues de mer, de dauphins et de poissons de p\u00eache \u00e0 la ligne sont asphyxi\u00e9s par la cupidit\u00e9 des p\u00eacheries industrielles de l'UE (sous la protection des dirigeants de l'UE) et sont ensuite jet\u00e9s par-dessus bord. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le chalutage de fond est l'une des m\u00e9thodes de p\u00eache les plus destructrices, entra\u00eenant une perte irr\u00e9versible d'\u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes et la lib\u00e9ration de quantit\u00e9s massives de carbone stock\u00e9es dans les fonds marins. Son interdiction permettrait d'\u00e9viter 93% des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre de l'UE. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41598-020-71021-x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rejets de poissons et prises accessoires<\/a> (vie marine captur\u00e9e par hasard et rejet\u00e9e morte ou mourante dans la mer ou vie marine non cibl\u00e9e \u00e9galement rejet\u00e9e morte ou mourante par-dessus bord). Les gouvernements europ\u00e9ens d\u00e9pensent  <a href=\"https:\/\/news.nationalgeographic.org\/study-bottom-trawling-in-european-waters-costs-society-up-to-eur11-billion-annually\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1,3 milliard d'euros par an pour subventionner ce d\u00e9sastre<\/a>. Pourquoi les contribuables europ\u00e9ens financent-ils une industrie qui d\u00e9truit leurs eaux c\u00f4ti\u00e8res ? L'oc\u00e9an est tellement \u00e9puis\u00e9 que les petites communaut\u00e9s de p\u00eacheurs sont \u00e0 la limite de la survie et que les zones d'abondance d'autrefois sont d\u00e9sormais vides. Plus de 100 millions de personnes d\u00e9pendent de la p\u00eache c\u00f4ti\u00e8re de subsistance et de la p\u00eache artisanale \u00e0 petite \u00e9chelle pour leur alimentation et leurs moyens de subsistance quotidiens, souvent dans les m\u00eames eaux que celles cibl\u00e9es par les chalutiers de l'UE. Mettre fin \u00e0 la p\u00eache industrielle est une \u00e9vidence. L'Union europ\u00e9enne, sous l'impulsion de la France, peut commencer par prot\u00e9ger r\u00e9ellement les zones marines prot\u00e9g\u00e9es et par interdire le chalutage de fond \u00e0 l'ensemble de la flotte de p\u00eache de l'UE.
