Estos grupos de presi\u00f3n est\u00e1n decididos a lavar de verde el GNL a trav\u00e9s de su plataforma de marionetas <a href=\"https:\/\/sea-lng.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SEA-LNG.ORG.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GAS NATURAL LICUADO (GNL) - <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/theicct.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/ID-64-%E2%80%93-FUMES-ships-Report-A4-60037-FV.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>los hechos<br><\/strong><\/a>El GNL es un combustible f\u00f3sil que, cuando se extrae, se transporta y se quema como combustible marino, deja escapar metano a la atm\u00f3sfera, un gas peligroso para el calentamiento global que est\u00e1 sobre <a href=\"https:\/\/theicct.org\/publication\/the-climate-implications-of-using-lng-as-a-marine-fuel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">80 veces m\u00e1s calentamiento del clima<\/a> a corto plazo que el di\u00f3xido de carbono.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Grupo Intergubernamental de Expertos sobre el Cambio Clim\u00e1tico (IPCC) de la ONU <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/report\/ar6\/wg1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">identificado<\/a> la r\u00e1pida reducci\u00f3n de las emisiones de metano como una de las principales prioridades para limitar el calentamiento global a un nivel lo m\u00e1s cercano posible a 1,5\u00b0C. El IPCC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/report\/ar6\/wg3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00faltimo informe<\/a> centrarse en la mitigaci\u00f3n del clima deja claro que el gas f\u00f3sil en forma de GNL no es una soluci\u00f3n para la descarbonizaci\u00f3n del transporte mar\u00edtimo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contrariamente a lo que exige la climatolog\u00eda, las compa\u00f1\u00edas navieras y portuarias han ido a toda m\u00e1quina a popa, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cma-cgm.com\/news\/3571\/cma-cgm-to-dedicate-six-new-lng-powered-vessels-to-service-u-s-customers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">invirtiendo fuertemente<\/a> en GNL f\u00f3sil, alegando que el combustible reducir\u00e1 su impacto medioambiental y la contaminaci\u00f3n clim\u00e1tica. Actualmente hay m\u00e1s de 785 nuevos cargueros encargados en todo el mundo, de los cuales m\u00e1s de 400 se est\u00e1n construyendo para funcionar con GNL f\u00f3sil sucio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quemar m\u00e1s GNL f\u00f3sil a bordo de los buques es un desastre en ciernes para nuestro planeta. S\u00f3lo aumentar\u00eda las emisiones de metano de los buques, que ya <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imo.org\/en\/OurWork\/Environment\/Pages\/Fourth-IMO-Greenhouse-Gas-Study-2020.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rosa<\/a> en 150% entre 2012 y 2018, seg\u00fan la Organizaci\u00f3n Mar\u00edtima Internacional (OMI) de la ONU. Y el aumento de la contaminaci\u00f3n por metano est\u00e1 empeorando seg\u00fan un reciente <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emsa.europa.eu\/emter-2025\/full-report.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EMSA<\/a> La mayor parte de este aumento se debe a la creciente utilizaci\u00f3n del GNL en el transporte mar\u00edtimo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las emisiones de metano tambi\u00e9n disminuyen la calidad del aire. Y ello a pesar de las recientes investigaciones que han desenmascarado las mentiras de plataformas industriales de presi\u00f3n como <a href=\"https:\/\/sea-lng.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MAR\/GNL<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/scijournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/ese3.1934\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">La investigaci\u00f3n revisada por expertos<\/a> revela que el GNL extra\u00eddo y exportado desde Estados Unidos es 33% m\u00e1s contaminante que el carb\u00f3n. A lo largo del proceso de extracci\u00f3n y suministro de GNL se producen fugas de metano que causan problemas de salud y la destrucci\u00f3n de zonas y comunidades costeras <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/article\/2024\/jul\/24\/fossil-fuel-liquified-natural-gas-louisiana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dondequiera que aparezca una planta de GNL.<\/a> Estas mismas fugas contin\u00faan a bordo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transportenvironment.org\/articles\/methane-escaping-from-green-gas-powered-ships-fuelling-climate-crisis-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Buques propulsados por GNL<\/a>contribuyendo a acelerar el colapso clim\u00e1tico. Para encubrir esta verdad inc\u00f3moda, la industria pregona <a href=\"https:\/\/saynotolng.org\/resource\/biomethane-infographic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">biometano<\/a> y<a href=\"https:\/\/saynotolng.org\/resource\/factsheet-e-lng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> e-metano<\/a> productos que s\u00f3lo representan el 6% del mercado de la UE e incluso menos en todo el mundo (y ambos siguen filtrando metano a lo largo de sus cadenas de suministro).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"supportus-block_fe5cf00456f44f7b9c07eb3135b07c46\" class=\"block--supportus\">\n    \n    <p class=\"no-margin\">\n        <strong>El destino del Oc\u00e9ano depende de todos nosotros.<br \/>\r\nNuestras intervenciones dependen de su apoyo.<\/strong>\n    <\/p>\n    \n    <div class=\"wp-container-1 wp-block-buttons\">\n\n        <div class=\"wp-block-button button--support\">\n            <a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"\/es\/support-us\/\">Ap\u00f3yanos<\/a>\n        <\/div>\n\n        <div class=\"wp-block-button button--contact\">\n            <a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"\/es\/about\/\">Contacto con nosotros<\/a>\n        <\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Situaci\u00f3n actual del GNL y el transporte mar\u00edtimo<\/strong><br>Entre 2012 y 2018, las emisiones de metano de los buques alimentados con GNL crecieron un 150 por ciento <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imo.org\/en\/OurWork\/Environment\/Pages\/Fourth-IMO-Greenhouse-Gas-Study-2020.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(Cuarto estudio de la OMI sobre GEI 2020)<\/a>. Las emisiones de metano del transporte mar\u00edtimo en el mundo real tambi\u00e9n indican que la contribuci\u00f3n del sector al cambio clim\u00e1tico es mayor de lo que se estimaba anteriormente. A pesar de las repercusiones negativas sobre el clima y el medio ambiente, se prev\u00e9 que el sector del transporte mar\u00edtimo experimente un mayor crecimiento de la demanda de GNL, con la adici\u00f3n anual prevista de entre 160 y 500 nuevos buques alimentados con GNL hasta 2030.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Necesitamos una normativa estricta sobre el metano en la OMI<\/strong><br>Seg\u00fan la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipcc.ch\/report\/ar6\/syr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IPCC (AR6)<\/a>Para hacer frente a la emergencia clim\u00e1tica y a sus devastadores efectos sobre las personas es necesario abordar urgentemente las emisiones de metano a corto plazo. Los defensores del GNL est\u00e1n enga\u00f1ando a los responsables pol\u00edticos sobre la magnitud real de sus impactos en el clima y la salud, al tiempo que ponen en peligro un futuro de supervivencia en este planeta.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La OMI es el organismo de las Naciones Unidas que regula el transporte mar\u00edtimo internacional. <strong>En la actualidad, no existe ninguna normativa internacional espec\u00edfica para las emisiones de metano de los buques. <\/strong>Sin embargo, existen varias oportunidades para integrar ampliamente el metano en el marco reglamentario de la OMI durante el Comit\u00e9 de Protecci\u00f3n del Medio Marino (MEPC83). Si esto no ocurre, proponemos un futuro m\u00e1s dr\u00e1stico para la OMI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Llamamiento a la acci\u00f3n en la OMI:<\/strong><br><strong>El GNL es un combustible f\u00f3sil que afecta negativamente a las personas, el medio ambiente y el clima en todas las fases de su ciclo de vida.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exigimos:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1\/ <\/strong>Las emisiones de metano se consideran un gas de efecto invernadero y se incluyen en cualquier plan del MEPC para gravar el transporte mar\u00edtimo con un impuesto sobre el carbono, ponderado por el exceso de capacidad de forzamiento clim\u00e1tico del metano fugitivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2\/<\/strong> Los Estados miembros de la OMI reconocen el GNL como combustible f\u00f3sil y dejan de escuchar a los <a href=\"https:\/\/sea-lng.org\/why-lng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GNL MARINO<\/a> los grupos de presi\u00f3n, excluy\u00e9ndolos de la OMI.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3\/<\/strong> La OMI fomentar\u00e1 la eficiencia y el uso de la navegaci\u00f3n lenta, la reducci\u00f3n de la capacidad y la, <a href=\"https:\/\/seas-at-risk.org\/publications\/one-planet-shipping-navigating-the-waves-of-climate-change\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">embarcaciones de vela y propulsi\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica<\/a> incentivando la incorporaci\u00f3n al sector del transporte mar\u00edtimo, capacitando y mejorando las cualificaciones de los trabajadores e introduciendo rutas mar\u00edtimas m\u00e1s justas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"897\" src=\"https:\/\/oceanrebellion.earth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Copy-of-DSC_5238-ed-fx-guy-reece.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4061\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oceanrebellion.earth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Copy-of-DSC_5238-ed-fx-guy-reece.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/oceanrebellion.earth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Copy-of-DSC_5238-ed-fx-guy-reece-596x446.jpg 596w, https:\/\/oceanrebellion.earth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Copy-of-DSC_5238-ed-fx-guy-reece-768x574.jpg 768w, https:\/\/oceanrebellion.earth\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Copy-of-DSC_5238-ed-fx-guy-reece-16x12.jpg 16w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2b06\ufe0f<em> Scrubby derrota a los habitantes del oc\u00e9ano.
