M\u00e4rz, hat die Umweltkampagnengruppe Ocean Rebellion, die sich gegen die Internationale Seeschifffahrtsorganisation (IMO), die korrupte und schmutzige Schifffahrtsindustrie und die Frachteigent\u00fcmer richtet, Slogans und Botschaften auf Kraftstoffsilos projiziert, in denen sie die Industrie auffordert, sich von schmutzigen Kraftstoffen abzuwenden.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Der j\u00fcngste Protest der Ocean Rebels fand am ersten Tag der 8. Sitzung des Unterausschusses f\u00fcr Verschmutzungsverh\u00fctung und -bek\u00e4mpfung (PPR) der IMO in Falmouth, Cornwall, statt, wo die Ocean Rebellion im August 2020 mit einer Aktion gegen das Kreuzfahrtschiff The World begann.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Im Laufe des Abends projizierten die Demonstranten Slogans wie \"SWITCH TO DISTILLATE NOW\" und \"DIRTY FUELS, BLATANT LIES, CLIMATE DISASTERS\" auf die Kraftstoffsilos und forderten, dass die IMO, Schiffseigner und Frachteigent\u00fcmer sofortige und wirksame Ma\u00dfnahmen ergreifen, um die Verwendung aller schmutzigen Schwer\u00f6le zu stoppen. Diese Kraftstoffe sind eine wichtige Quelle f\u00fcr t\u00f6dlichen schwarzen Kohlenstoff in der Arktis und wurden mit Schiffskatastrophen in Verbindung gebracht, die durch Maschinenausf\u00e4lle verursacht wurden, wie z. B. Wakashio auf Mauritius, und mit dem Auslaufen giftiger Kraftstoffe aus Lagerh\u00e4usern.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Sophie Miller von Ocean Rebellion sagte&nbsp;<strong>\"Die anhaltende Freisetzung von schwarzem Kohlenstoff aus schmutzigen Kraftstoffen zerst\u00f6rt unser \u00d6kosystem. Das arktische Meereis, die Gletscher, der Permafrost und der gr\u00f6nl\u00e4ndische Eisschild schrumpfen aufgrund der globalen Erw\u00e4rmung durch den Albedo-Effekt, der direkt auf die Verschmutzung durch schwarzen Kohlenstoff aus schmutzigen HFO und VLSFO zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren ist. Dies f\u00fchrt zu t\u00f6dlichen Umweltfolgen wie dem Anstieg des Meeresspiegels und extremen Wetterlagen, die vor allem die schwachen Menschen im globalen S\u00fcden zu sp\u00fcren bekommen und sich vor dem Hintergrund der arktischen Klimakrise entwickeln.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Schwer\u00f6le und Schwarzkohle stehen auf der Tagesordnung der PPR 8, auf der die IMO-Mitgliedstaaten die M\u00f6glichkeit haben, schnelle und wirksame Ma\u00dfnahmen zur Verringerung der Schwarzkohleemissionen in der Arktis zu ergreifen. Die IMO-Mitgliedstaaten m\u00fcssen sich auf Vorschriften einigen, die sicherstellen, dass die Schifffahrtsindustrie, die in oder nahe der Arktis operiert, auf Destillatkraftstoffe wie Diesel oder Marinegas\u00f6l umsteigt, und vorschreiben, dass Schiffe Partikelfilter verwenden oder auf andere sauberere Energiequellen oder Antriebsmittel umsteigen. Die Arbeiten zur Entwicklung einer globalen Norm f\u00fcr die Emission von schwarzem Kohlenstoff in der Schifffahrt m\u00fcssen sofort anlaufen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Sophie f\u00fcgte hinzu&nbsp;<strong>\"W\u00e4hrend wir auf kohlenstofffreie Kraftstoffe und andere Antriebsmethoden umsteigen, m\u00fcssen wir die Todesf\u00e4lle durch Luftverschmutzung stoppen, den Aussto\u00df von schwarzem Kohlenstoff reduzieren und die Kosten f\u00fcr konventionelle Kraftstoffe durch die Durchsetzung des Verursacherprinzips in die H\u00f6he treiben. Ocean Rebellion ist der Meinung, dass die IMO Gesetze erlassen muss, um alle Subventionen f\u00fcr umweltsch\u00e4dliche Kraftstoffe abzuschaffen und sicherzustellen, dass die Kraftstoffhersteller die WAHRHEIT sagen und eine ehrliche Liste ihrer Inhaltsstoffe f\u00fcr jeden produzierten Kraftstoff vorlegen. Gegenw\u00e4rtig haben die Schifffahrtsindustrie und die Frachteigner in gef\u00e4hrlicher Weise beschlossen, die Kosten \u00fcber das Klima und die Umwelt zu stellen. Dies war zum Teil deshalb m\u00f6glich, weil es keine formellen gesetzlichen Vorschriften f\u00fcr die Kraftstoffqualit\u00e4t gibt und weil die Industrie ISO-Normen gef\u00f6rdert hat.\"<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Rob Higgs, ebenfalls von Ocean Rebellion, f\u00fcgt hinzu&nbsp;<strong>\"Zus\u00e4tzlich zu unserer Arbeit am Klimawandel in der Schifffahrt k\u00e4mpfen wir in letzter Minute darum, so viel wie m\u00f6glich vom arktischen Meereis zu retten - wir k\u00e4mpfen buchst\u00e4blich um unser Leben, wenn man die R\u00fcckkopplungseffekte bedenkt, die damit verbunden sind, dass die arktische Eiskappe ihre F\u00e4higkeit verliert, W\u00e4rme in den Weltraum zur\u00fcckzuwerfen. Daher dr\u00e4ngen wir als kurzfristige Sofortma\u00dfnahme auf eine Umstellung auf Destillate f\u00fcr die Arktis und arktische Gew\u00e4sser.
