Seefahrer und K\u00fcstenbewohner in Cornwall haben diese Woche im Hafen von Falmouth gegen die Verschmutzung durch Kreuzfahrtschiffe demonstriert.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Die Aktion war ein Vorl\u00e4ufer des offiziellen Starts der Ocean Rebellion am 19. August, an der sich \u00fcber 40 Demonstranten mit Fahnen und Transparenten beteiligten.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Anschlie\u00dfend projizierten die Demonstranten Filme und Slogans auf den Rumpf des Schiffes, darunter Fuck This Ship, Sort your Ship out! und Turn The Tide, um auf die Umweltauswirkungen der Kreuzschifffahrt aufmerksam zu machen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Die Basisaktivistengruppe, die sich Ocean Rebellion nennt, hat eine Eskalation der Aktivit\u00e4ten auf der ganzen Welt zugesagt, um unser gemeinsames Meereserbe zu sch\u00fctzen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ein Sprecher der Gruppe sagt: \"Der Treibstoff, den diese Schiffe verbrennen, ist 100 Mal umweltsch\u00e4dlicher als der Treibstoff, den wir f\u00fcr den Stra\u00dfenverkehr zulassen. Dies hat enorme Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt, nicht nur auf die Ozeane und ihre \u00d6kosysteme, sondern auch auf die Luftqualit\u00e4t in den K\u00fcstengemeinden, die von diesen Schiffen besucht werden. Jedes Appartement auf diesem Kreuzfahrtschiff verursacht hundertmal mehr Emissionen als ein durchschnittliches europ\u00e4isches Appartement an Land. Das sind 380.309 kg CO2 pro Jahr - das entspricht dem Gewicht eines Flugzeugs vom Typ Boeing 747.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ein besorgter Anwohner sagte: \"Selbst an den hei\u00dfesten Tagen der Abriegelung stie\u00df das Schiff tonnenweise Rauch in die lokale Atmosph\u00e4re aus. Man konnte ihn schwarz am Himmel sehen und in der Luft riechen\".<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Wenn dieses Schiff im Hafen liegt, verursacht es mehr Schwefelverschmutzung als 1.200.000 Autos oder 30.000 Lastwagen.

In Bezug auf die Klimabelastung verursacht dieses Schiff, das im Hafen liegt, t\u00e4glich das \u00c4quivalent von 226 Lkw-Emissionen pro Tag (Quelle: EU-MRV-Daten aus MV weltweit, unter der Annahme einer j\u00e4hrlichen Lkw-Fahrleistung von 100.000 Meilen und einem Verbrauch von 30 l Diesel pro Meile)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Der Ozean ist wie das menschliche Herz, das Sauerstoff und Leben durch den K\u00f6rper unseres Planeten pumpt, die H\u00e4lfte des Sauerstoffs liefert, den wir atmen, S\u00fc\u00dfwasser im Kreislauf f\u00fchrt, N\u00e4hrstoffe bereitstellt und unsere Wettersysteme steuert.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Der Ozean steht zwischen uns und den schlimmsten Auswirkungen des Klimawandels, dennoch ist er durch den Klimawandel ernsthaft bedroht. Einige der gravierendsten Auswirkungen auf den Ozean sind: Erw\u00e4rmung der Meeresoberfl\u00e4che, Erw\u00e4rmung der Ozeane, Sauerstoffmangel und Versauerung.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Luxuskreuzfahrtschiffe sto\u00dfen 10-mal mehr Luftverschmutzung aus als alle Autos in Europa (Verkehr & Umwelt, 2019)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Die Schifffahrtsindustrie, einschlie\u00dflich der Luxuskreuzfahrtindustrie, zahlt keine Treibstoffsteuer, und die Verlagerung und Nutzung von Billigflaggen sorgt daf\u00fcr, dass nur wenige andere Steuern gezahlt werden, so dass sie fast vollst\u00e4ndig steuerbefreit ist.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Die Schifffahrt tr\u00e4gt erheblich zur Luftverschmutzung bei, wobei Schwefeloxide (SOx) und Stickoxide (NOx) mit 9% bzw. 18-30% zur weltweiten Luftverschmutzung beitragen und zu Gesundheitsproblemen f\u00fcr Mensch und Umwelt wie Atemwegs- und Herzerkrankungen, Eutrophierung und Nitrifikation f\u00fchren.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
