Heute Morgen \u00fcbergaben Mitglieder von Ocean Rebellion ein Geschenk an den Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) als Teil ihrer einw\u00f6chigen Kampagne gegen die Zerst\u00f6rung der Meere, einschlie\u00dflich der korrupten und zerst\u00f6rerischen industriellen Fischerei.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Das Geschenk kam per Eilzustellung in den Aktentaschen von drei fischverr\u00fcckten Greenwash-Detektiven an. Sie vermuten, dass der MSC die \u00d6ffentlichkeit bel\u00fcgt, indem er Fisch mit dem Symbol \"nachhaltig gefangen\" kennzeichnet. Als Beweis f\u00fcr diese eklatante L\u00fcge lieferten sie einige dieser Fische mit Innereien. Ihre Aktenkoffer trugen die Aufschriften \"WAR ON FISH\" und \"MSC CERTIFIED LIES\", die jeweils von den Aktivit\u00e4ten des MSC zeugen. Ein letzter Koffer, der Beweise f\u00fcr alle vom MSC zugelassenen Grundschleppnetzfischer enthielt, war mit \"ECOCIDE\" beschriftet - eine treffende Beschreibung f\u00fcr die industriellen Fischereimethoden, die durch die MSC-Zertifizierung unterst\u00fctzt werden.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Derzeit zertifiziert der Marine Stewardship Council alle Fischereimethoden als nachhaltig und unterscheidet bei der Kennzeichnung nicht zwischen industriellen und handwerklichen Fischereimethoden.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ocean Rebellion fordert, dass der MSC aufh\u00f6rt, Supermarktk\u00e4ufer hinters Licht zu f\u00fchren. Wir fordern, dass der MSC die Wahrheit \u00fcber die Zerst\u00f6rung der Meereslebewesen und des Meeresbodens durch die Grundschleppnetzfischerei und die gesamte industrielle Fischerei sagt.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Dar\u00fcber hinaus erlaubt der Marine Stewardship Council seinen Mitgliedern, ihre Zertifizierung gegen Bezahlung zu erhalten. Ocean Rebellion erkl\u00e4rt, dass dies ein klarer Interessenkonflikt ist, der jede Zertifizierung durch den MSC null und nichtig macht. Bis der MSC eine andere Finanzierungsmethode gefunden hat, fordern wir die K\u00e4ufer auf, Fischprodukte, die sein Logo tragen, zu boykottieren.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Wir fordern den MSC und alle anderen Zertifizierungsstellen auf, noch weiter zu gehen und eine Aussetzung der industriellen Fischerei zu fordern, bis der Zustand der Fischbest\u00e4nde in unseren Ozeanen vollst\u00e4ndig gekl\u00e4rt ist, wobei alle Fischer, die von dieser Aussetzung betroffen sind, von ihren jeweiligen Regierungen entsch\u00e4digt werden.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\"Der MSC muss die Wahrheit \u00fcber die Ersch\u00f6pfung der Ozeane sagen. Viele Fischpopulationen stehen kurz vor dem Aussterben, und selbst die Terminologie der Regierung, die sie als Fischbest\u00e4nde bezeichnet und sie als 'noch nicht vollst\u00e4ndig befischt' beschreibt, impliziert eine industrielle Perspektive auf etwas, das wir sch\u00fctzen sollten, als ob unser Leben davon abhinge - denn das tut es.\"<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Clive Russell sagt
\"Sobald eine Art ausstirbt, ist sie f\u00fcr immer verloren. Wir sollten keine Fischereimethoden f\u00f6rdern, die dies zulassen. Aber wenn wir weiterhin in industriellem Ma\u00dfstab fischen, mit Mega-Trawlern, die 4 km lange Netze ziehen und alles im Meer fangen, dann werden wir am Ende einfach ein fischleeres Meer haben.\"<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Roc Sandford sagt
\"Wir haben fast alle wilden Proteine auf dem Land aufgefressen und sind nun auf dem besten Weg, das Gleiche mit den Ozeanen zu tun. Das bedeutet, dass wir sie leer und dezimiert von den Fischen zur\u00fccklassen, die einst frei schwammen. Wir m\u00fcssen die Grundschleppnetzfischerei und die industrielle Fischerei jetzt beenden, um den Fischpopulationen eine Chance zu geben, sich zu erholen. Aufgrund des von den Meeresorganismen gespeicherten Kohlenstoffs sind der Zusammenbruch der biologischen Vielfalt im Meer und der Klimanotstand mehr oder weniger dasselbe. Wir k\u00f6nnen das eine nicht ohne das andere l\u00f6sen, und wenn wir die Ozeane ausrotten, haben wir keine realistische Chance mehr, das Klima und unsere Gesellschaft zu retten.\"<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
