Im Juni letzten Jahres legte die Europ\u00e4ische Kommission ein neues Gesetz zur Wiederherstellung der Natur<\/a>die zum ersten Mal rechtsverbindliche Ziele f\u00fcr die Wiederherstellung gesch\u00e4digter \u00d6kosysteme und die Umkehrung des Verlusts der biologischen Vielfalt enth\u00e4lt. <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die EU-L\u00e4nder scheinen jedoch zu z\u00f6gern.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wieder einmal sieht es so aus, als w\u00fcrde die Natur dem Profit unterlegen sein.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vor allem, wenn die acht Mitglieder des EU-Fischereiausschusses, die auf unseren Plakaten abgebildet sind, ihren Willen bekommen. Alle acht handeln im Namen der industriellen Fischerei, eine von ihnen ist sogar die Schwester eines gro\u00dfen Fischereiflottenbesitzers. Und alle acht werden in der letzten Maiwoche im EU-Parlament an der Seite ihrer rechten und konservativen Freunde abstimmen. Sie alle haben sich kritisch zum Vorschlag f\u00fcr ein Gesetz zur Wiederherstellung der Natur ge\u00e4u\u00dfert, das den Mitgliedstaaten zum ersten Mal rechtsverbindliche Ziele f\u00fcr die Wiederherstellung von 20% der Land- und Meeresfl\u00e4chen der EU bis 2030 vorgibt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eines der Hauptprobleme besteht darin, das in der Gemeinsamen Fischereipolitik (GFP) beschriebene dysfunktionale rechtliche Verfahren anzugehen, auf das sich das Gesetz zur Wiederherstellung der Natur (Nature Restoration Law - NRL) st\u00fctzt, um Fischereibeschr\u00e4nkungsma\u00dfnahmen zu Wiederherstellungszwecken umzusetzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beim derzeitigen Stand der Dinge k\u00f6nnen die in der NRL enthaltenen Erhaltungsma\u00dfnahmen von Mitgliedstaaten blockiert werden, die die Fischerei \u00fcber die Wiederherstellung stellen wollen. Wenn dies geschieht, ist die NRL kein Gesetz, sondern wird zur Option f\u00fcr die Wiederherstellung der Natur - man kann sich entscheiden, ob man mitmacht oder nicht. Und wir wissen, wohin das f\u00fchren wird - die EU-Regierungen werden aussteigen und die leichten wirtschaftlichen Gewinne den schwierigeren Entscheidungen vorziehen, die f\u00fcr einen progressiven Wandel erforderlich sind. Wenn die EU jetzt zugreift, kann sie nicht nur bei der Wiederherstellung der Natur, sondern auch beim gerechten \u00dcbergang von Arbeitspl\u00e4tzen eine f\u00fchrende Rolle spielen. Sie kann Subventionen von zerst\u00f6rerischen Industrien weg und hin zu restaurativen Industrien verlagern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Wiederherstellung von 20% der Natur ist ein guter Anfang, aber Ocean Rebellion ist der Ansicht, dass dies nur ein Anfang ist. Die EU muss radikaler sein, 20% muss ein kurzfristiges Ziel sein und die Wiederherstellung von 80% ein langfristiges Ziel. Stellen Sie sich vor, wie Europa aussehen wird, wenn 80% seiner Natur wiederhergestellt sind - alles, was darunter liegt, ist ein Versagen der Vorstellungskraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ocean Rebellion fordert au\u00dferdem das EU-Parlament und den Rat auf, den Vorschlag zu unterst\u00fctzen, die Mitgliedstaaten rechtlich f\u00fcr die Wiederherstellung der Natur verantwortlich zu machen und den EU-B\u00fcrgern das Recht einzur\u00e4umen, die Mitgliedstaaten zu verklagen, wenn sie dem nicht nachkommen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
