N\u00e3o s\u00f3 bloqueiam a luz (Amesterd\u00e3o \u00e9 plana e a altura dos edif\u00edcios \u00e9 regulamentada), como os passageiros, como este <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uib.no\/en\/news\/36477\/cruise-tourists-spend-less\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Estudo noruegu\u00eas<\/a> n\u00e3o contribuem muito (ou nada) para a economia local. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A \u00fanica coisa que os navios de cruzeiro contribuem para Amesterd\u00e3o \u00e9 uma enorme quantidade de polui\u00e7\u00e3o. Estudos como este de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transportenvironment.org\/articles\/luxury-cruise-giant-emits-10-times-more-air-pollution-sox-all-europes-cars-study\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ONG T&amp;E<\/a> demonstraram que os navios de cruzeiro emitiram 10 vezes mais \u00f3xido de enxofre (SOX) nas costas europeias do que 260 milh\u00f5es de autom\u00f3veis em 2017. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais <a href=\"https:\/\/safety4sea.com\/te-as-cruise-ships-grow-so-do-environmental-challenges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investiga\u00e7\u00e3o recente<\/a> \u00e9 ainda mais assustador. Os navios de cruzeiro est\u00e3o a ficar cada vez maiores e o problema tamb\u00e9m. A ind\u00fastria dos cruzeiros est\u00e1 a tentar disfar\u00e7ar este problema mudando lentamente os seus navios para um novo combust\u00edvel, o g\u00e1s natural liquefeito (GNL). Mas este combust\u00edvel liberta metano para a atmosfera, um g\u00e1s com efeito de estufa 80 vezes mais potente do que o CO2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Porque \u00e9 que a popula\u00e7\u00e3o de Amesterd\u00e3o tem de estar constantemente exposta \u00e0s emiss\u00f5es de mon\u00f3xido de carbono, di\u00f3xido de enxofre e compostos org\u00e2nicos vol\u00e1teis (COV) dos navios de cruzeiro? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.environmentalhealthproject.org\/post\/liquefied-natural-gas-lng-health-and-climate-impacts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Estudos demonstraram que<\/a> que estes poluentes est\u00e3o associados a uma s\u00e9rie de impactos na sa\u00fade, incluindo dores de cabe\u00e7a, tosse, tonturas e outras doen\u00e7as respirat\u00f3rias. Podem tamb\u00e9m irritar a pele, os olhos, o nariz e os pulm\u00f5es.
